Photo Friday: Tomatoes in January

Lots and lots of Matt's Wild Cherry and Goldrush Currant

Goldrush Currant

Unripe tomatoes brought in for the first frost.

  1. Such beautiful pictures. I just love the Matt's Wild Cherry-I tried them last summer for the first time and was impressed with how prolific they were. I've never tried the yellow cherry toms.......how are they? Sweet? Sure are pretty.....

  2. Goldrush currant tomatoes are very sweet (and teeny tiny), but the skin can be a little thick. Yields are very high! Current tomatoes are actually a different species (Lycopersicon pimpinellifolium) from most other tomatoes. If you're not into heirlooms, 'Sungold' is a very popular yellow hybrid cherry that I hear is very tasty.
